It was at the end of the 1730s that the first noted signs of the inception of the Methodist church have come to be found. The Methodist church was founded by the teachings of a man by the name of John Wesley. John Wesley was a former clergy of the Church of England. He is also referred to as a Christian theologian. This is because his works stemmed outside of the reach of the Methodist church. He had lead such a large initiative in the following of the Methodist church that, there are over seventy million people to date that belong to the Methodist church. The Methodist churches that we have come to know today also have had some rather significant assistance in its composition from a couple of other great leaders. The early Methodist church and its practices were formed with the help of George Whitfield. George Whitfield was the first to initiate open-air preaching, in which one delivers a religious message to the public in crowds that are formed right out in the open. Then there was the brother of John Wesley, by the name of Charles Wesley, that has also played an instrumental role in the Methodist churches that were created out of such a great movement. Charles Wesley had influenced the formation and growth of the Methodist church in the form of song. Charles Wesley had produced a body of hymns that may be still heard sang out in Methodist churches to this very day.

The Methodist church officially became its own denomination just some time after the passing of John Wesley in 1795. But it was clear to see that the Methodist church had largely been created due to the inspirations of John Wesley, John Whitfield, and many of the other early Methodists. The Methodist churches of today are largely based on some key beliefs. One of the key religious beliefs for which Methodist churches were founded upon was the belief that those that members of the Methodist church are to avoid participating in any activity that may be deemed as wicked. Methodist churches are founded on the belief that we are to obey the proclamations of God. Also, Methodist churches were founded on the basis that they are to conduct as many good deeds as one possibly can. Methodist churches take on the belief that God is all powerful, all knowing, and has always been and will always be in existence. Furthermore, the Methodist churches take on the viewpoint of what is often called the Holy Trinity. This is the belief in Methodist churches that God is the makeup of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

The very first Baptist church that is most substantially noted was said to be formed in 1606, under the pastoral direction of a man by the name of John Smyth, who attended Christ’s College of the University of Cambridge. The Baptist church of today is said to have over 110 million members that attend Baptist churches, and there are over 220,000 Baptist churches in the world, but the early beginning of the religious denomination begin with about 60 to 70 members. It is said that he had come to be the pastor of the Baptist church, not too long after his separation from the Church of New England. He was not content with the length to which the Church of New England went to improve upon some of the practices of the Catholic church. Therefore, the Baptist church was initiated in order to further address these issues. One of the biggest aspects of what it is that the Baptist church stands for is directly related to the name in which the Christian denomination was given. Baptist churches have a specific theory on Baptism. The early Baptist churches believed that baptism is to take place in those that are believers in Jesus Christ and would like to offer their profession of faith. Baptist churches are also set apart for their practices in baptism, based on the fact that they generally emerge the entire head or body to carry out the act, rather than just applying the sprinkling of water to the head. Nevertheless, there are some changes within that theory, to date. Many of the Baptist churches still take on that aspect of baptism candidacy, but many advocate just as much for infancy baptism, as well.

The members of this early Baptist church were Separatists that were interested in further reform within the church. Because of the new philosophies initiated and practiced by the early Baptist church, they were under much scrutiny for their new denomination of Christian religious practice. Thus, even gathering together at the Baptist church for a religious service was often a jeopardy to the well being of all those that attended.

One of the other beliefs that is still very much present within Baptist churches to date is the fact that salvation is achieved through an individual’s faith. Baptist churches, thus, deliver their messages on the basis of this theory. The belief within the Baptist churches is that the faith by which they are dependent upon in order to achieve salvation comes from the Bible. Baptist churches are characterized by the fact that they believe that in the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Baptist church strongly incorporates this religious belief into the way in which they base their philosophy of this denomination of the Christian religion.

The Catholic church is one of the most well-known religious organizations in the world. The Catholic church, which is also referred to as the Roman Catholic church, was the first denomination of Christian religious practice to be ever formed. When people come to look at the distinction among all denominations, they ultimately look to the Catholic church as a reference point as to where to begin to draw upon those differences. This is because Catholic churches have a certain structure in place that is very specific and very precise. One of the elements as to how the structure of catholic churches are formed is with a higher arc that oversees the Catholic church. They are most commonly referred to as the clergy or the priesthood. The priesthood of the Catholic church includes the priest or priestess, shamans, and oracles. In Catholic churches, the priest or priestess is the religious authority that has been designated the responsibility of carrying out sacrifices and rituals of the church. The priest or the priestess is regarded as the high authority of the Catholic church, that is closest to God; thus, the authority by which one must go to in order to connect with God. The shamans of Catholic churches are the individuals that are responsible for ensuring that the beliefs and practices of the Catholic churches are being carried out, and in the manner in which they should. The oracles of Catholic churches are those that have been appointed to provide wise counsel within the church to those who need it.

In regards to the practices of the Catholic churches, Catholic churches do take on a belief in Baptism. This is generally believed in the religion of Catholicism, to be an act that is set to be performed at childhood. Catholic churches highly encompass their religious body on the words that come from the Bible. The Catholic Bible consists of the Old Testament, the New Testament, and the Apocrypha, which are the additional writings of the New Testament that have been rejected by some of the other Christian denominations. The Catholic church is a Christian denomination that practices under the virtue that the Bible is the pathway to the truth. Nevertheless, the feeling is that this truth is defined by the way in which the tradition of the Catholic church has defined these words. Catholic churches have a different method prayer than some of the other churches. The Catholic church believes that in praying to God, you must also pray to Mary or a Saint in order for their prayer to be conveyed on your behalf.

The Lutheran church is a Protestant denomination. It was in the 16th century that the Lutheran church was born as a result of a church reform effort by Martin Luther and a number of others. Martin Luther was known to the religious community as a German monk. Nevertheless, there are some that have come to know Martin Luther as the Father of the Lutheran churches. He is also known as the “Father of Reformation.” Martin Luther was the religious leader that was displeased with some of the practices of the Catholic church, and decided that he would go on to bring this point to the forefront, and address the issues as they stood. Martin Luther further initiated his acts of reform by giving birth to the Lutheran churches. The Lutheran churches were intended to serve as keeping the core values of the Catholic church, but modifying the modes of practice to fit what was believed by some to be the ideal model. One of the most important aspects to the early Lutheran church was education. Therefore, one aspect that Lutheran churches still practiced to closely hold on to was keeping in line with the teachings of the same religious doctrine.

The early Lutheran church did have some major disparities from the Catholic church that were noted. One of these was the way in which members of the Lutheran church could gain access to God. The new belief that was practiced in Lutheran churches is that, through the help of the scripture, each individual had the capacity to reach God. The Lutheran church did not believe that an individual had to go through a priest in order to be able to connect with God. The early Lutheran churches did not have as steadfast regulations when it came to the way in which baptism would be carried out. Thus, this influenced the latter Lutheran churches to offer baptism candidacy to both children and adults. Another dramatic change that was effective in the Lutheran church was the fact that the Lutheran church had formulated a church policy which stated that the church did not have to have a set program, that would repeat accordingly at each service. The Lutheran churches had the freedom to devise a service that fit their preference. One of the key principles of the Lutheran church was in regards to salvation and how it can be achieved. The Lutheran churches took on the belief of Martin Luther. The Lutheran churches believed that the key to salvation was faith. One of the key points stressed was that the works that a person does only counts towards salvation if it is done on the basis of faith. Finally, the Lutheran church took on the belief that salvation is something that can be achieved by all, due to the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Simply stated, a church is a place that is designated for spiritual worship and praise. What typically separates a church from any other space in which people will practice their religions, is due to a number of different factors. Most churches were found and practice on the foundation that it will open up their doors to anyone that would like to partake in their religious practices. One of the first distinguishing factors to churches is their architectural design and the many other physical characteristics that they exude. One of the most unique qualities as to the design of churches are their stain glass windows. The unique aesthetic quality that is present in just about every church is one of the aspects that is most known for. Even the more modern approaches that churches use to windows is still viewed by so many as a work of art.

Part of the structure that is initiated in order to bring forth the proper order to the church is the clergy, or otherwise called as the officialdom. The clergy or the officialdom of churches are the members that have been selected in order to maintain a certain level of order and growth to the church. Churches usually call upon these members to lead certain religious rituals or ceremonies, and further spread the religious doctrine by teaching members of the church and beyond.

Churches generally have what is most often referred to as church services held on a periodic basis, usually weekly. These church services are a time in which the congregation is able to meet at a set time, as a group, and perform their traditional religious practices. There are many churches that offer such services an additional one to two times a week for that added element of convenience. Churches also have other services in which they come together in order to conduct their religious rituals. Some of the meetings that churches will hold in addition to the larger services are doctrine studies, choir rehearsals, clergy meetings, and additional praise and worship services.

Over the years, there have come to be quite a few denominations of the type of church that you may choose to attend. Some of the names of the types of denominations that one can choose to go to are the Catholic, the Lutheran, the Baptist, and the Methodist church. Depending on which church you decide to go to, there are some differences amongst the different denominations in terms of focus and modes of practice, but there are some key similarities that are going to be found in all churches.
